Irish Dance in Hungary, Austria, Slovakia
by Barbara Szenasi (TCRG

I am a professional dancer and the founder of the Barbara Dance Academy. I started dancing at the age of 4 in a traditional Hungarian folk dance group which did perform in the Hungarian State Opera House and many other hungarian theatres I am considering myself as an open-minded person so I tried other dance styles like belly dance and Irish dance which later came my passion and profession.

After having won several international competitions and also owning 2 European Champion titles in irish dance I was among the few European competitors who were able to qualify themselves for the World Championships in Ireland. Besides competing I am also participating in dance shows as a dancer and as a choreographer.

Quite soon I decided this is what I want to do in the rest of my life. After spending many years with learning I graduated (TCRG) in Dublin. Currently, I am the only officially qualified Irish dance teacher in Hungary.

Over 25 years of dancing, I opened my own dance school (Barbara Dance Academy) where I am teaching both traditional and modern styles of irish dancing for competitors and for hobby dancers as well. Today, the Barbara Dance Academy teaching the kids and the adults in 3 countries: Hungary, Austria and Slovakia
